Terms
Booking terms.
The agreement between you and Porch PNW for a Christmas porch or kitchen installation, in plain English.
Version 2026-10-22.2. Porch PNW is a trade name of Phillip Polikarpov, Washington UBI 605-375-211.
1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Porch PNW for any installation you book with us. By ticking the box to agree when you send your request, and paying your deposit, you accept them. Your approved, itemized plan is part of the agreement; if your plan and this page disagree, your plan wins for your booking. The version you accepted applies to your booking, even if we update this page later.
2. How a booking works
- Request. Sending a request, quote or question is free and does not book anything. We hold the window you request for 72 hours, and for as long as we are reviewing your request.
- Photos and plan. We review the photos of your entrance (and kitchen, for kitchen styling) and your access, then send an itemized plan and price. We may ask for more photos, or decline a request we can’t do well or safely.
- Approval and deposit. Your booking is confirmed only when you approve the plan and pay the 50% deposit. Please pay the deposit within 48 hours of approval; after that your window is released for other customers.
Changes to your plan are agreed in writing and priced before we do them. We don’t sell extras at the door on installation day; everything is chosen and priced before then.
3. Prices, fees and tax
Package and extra prices are listed on this site; items priced from photos are quoted in your plan. Homes in Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Washougal, Gresham, Happy Valley, West Linn, Lake Oswego, Beaverton and Tigard add a $50 travel fee, and requests sent on or after December 1, 2026 add a $75 late-booking fee. Both are shown in your price before you send a request; there are no other charges unless your approved plan lists them. Prices are before sales tax. Washington addresses: tax for your installation address (8.0% to 9.0% in Clark County) is added to your approved quote. Oregon has no sales tax.
4. Deposit and balance
The 50% deposit confirms your booking. The balance is due on installation day, once your porch is finished. We email you a secure link to pay it by card or bank account. We accept cards, Apple Pay, bank transfer and Cash App Pay through Stripe’s secure checkout, and Zelle (ask us for our Zelle details). A Zelle payment counts once it reaches our account; please put your request reference in the memo. If the balance isn’t paid, we send reminders and then contact you; it remains owed. If something isn’t right with your installation, please tell us before disputing a payment, so we can put it right.
5. Cancellation and refunds
If you cancel. You can cancel a request yourself from its status page at any time. Cancel 7 or more days before your installation day for a full refund of your deposit. Within 7 days the deposit is not refundable. We send refunds within 5 business days; your bank then takes a few days to show it. Gift-certificate credit follows the same rule: 7 or more days ahead it goes back on the gift code; within 7 days it is used.
If we cancel. If we can’t do your installation (for example illness, a vehicle problem, a supply failure, or no workable day left in the season) and we can’t agree a new day with you, we refund everything you paid for work not done, in full.
6. Moving your day, weather and arrival
Moving your day is free with at least 48 hours’ notice, to any open window. Inside 48 hours a change counts as a cancellation within 7 days.
If unsafe weather stops us on your day, we move your installation to the next open day at no cost. We decide on the day whether conditions are safe, for example ice, snow or high wind. We keep December 20 and December 21 free for weather moves. If weather leaves no workable day before then, we refund your deposit in full.
We arrive within your booked window (9 AM – 12 PM or 12 – 3 PM, Pacific Time). If we’re running late, we let you know.
7. Access, pets and safety
Access. By booking, you give Porch PNW permission to come onto your property on your installation day (and takedown day, if booked) to reach the areas in your plan. Please clear the porch, steps and entry, and send any gate code or parking notes through the contact form once your booking is confirmed. You don’t need to be home for porch-only work if we have agreed access.
If we can’t get in. If we arrive in your window and can’t reach your porch, we call you and wait 15 minutes. We rebook once at no charge; a second missed visit counts as a cancellation within 7 days.
Pets. Please keep pets indoors or secured while we work. If we can’t work safely around an animal, we may leave that area out and tell you. Keep pets from chewing greenery, ribbon, ornaments, battery candles and plants.
Safety. We work from the ground or a small step stool. We don’t use ladders, decorate rooflines or hang house lights; the only lights we add are fairy lights woven into garland. We may leave out or adjust anything we can’t install safely, and we tell you why.
8. How we install
We use existing hooks, over-door hangers, removable ties and free-standing pieces. We don’t drill, screw, nail or glue anything into your home. Merry & Bright lights run on a timer from a battery or a working porch outlet within reach; the electricity is yours. Fresh products vary, so we may use a piece of equal or better quality and size if one in your plan isn’t available; if a change would noticeably alter the look, we ask you first. Garland length and railing or column coverage are as your plan states.
9. Kitchen and indoor work
Kitchen styling is fresh greenery along the tops of your cabinets and ribbon bows on the doors, as set out in your plan. By booking it, you give us permission to enter your home for that work. Someone must be home, or indoor access must be arranged with us in writing beforehand. We work only in the rooms in your plan. Poinsettias are handed to you indoors, never left outside.
10. Fresh greenery and living plants
Your arrangement uses fresh Pacific Northwest noble fir and living plants, so color, shape and fullness vary from our illustrations and change through the season, and some needle drop is normal, more so near heaters and vents. How long they last depends on weather and care; we leave care notes on installation day. Fresh greenery promise: if any fresh item we install fails within 7 days, we replace it free. Damage from pets, storms, heat vents or pieces being moved isn’t covered. Send a photo through the contact form.
11. Ownership and after installation
Everything we supply with your package becomes yours once your balance is paid in full; nothing is rented. After installation your decor is in your care, and we aren’t responsible for loss or damage from wind, storms, snow, animals, theft, vandalism or handling. If wind or a storm knocks your arrangement around within 7 days of installation, tell us and we re-set it once, free. You are responsible for any homeowners’ association, landlord or condo rules about porch decorations. Your own door, house lighting, furniture and landscaping aren’t part of a package.
12. If something is damaged
We take care with your home. If we damage your property through our own carelessness, tell us within 7 days with a photo, and we repair it or pay for the repair. We aren’t responsible for conditions already there (such as loose railings, worn paint, or failing hooks or outlets), for damage after installation listed in section 11, or for your own items outside your plan. Our total responsibility for a booking is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under Washington or Oregon consumer law.
13. January takedown
Takedown is included with The Grand and is $85 with The Welcome or The Classic; kitchen takedown is quoted with your kitchen. Takedown days run January 4 to January 16, grouped by area, and we confirm your day ahead. We take away the spent greenery and gather the reusable pieces (pots, lanterns, ornaments, lights) for you to store; we don’t store decorations off-site. If we can’t get access, we rebook once at no charge; after that the takedown is cancelled and its price refunded.
14. Photos
The photos you send are used to plan and price your installation; how we store them is in our privacy notice. We photograph finished porches for our website or social media only with your permission, and never show house numbers, street signs or people.
15. Gift certificates
Gift certificates never expire and can be used for any Porch PNW installation, including sales tax. They can’t be exchanged for cash, except where the law requires it. Gift credit used on a booking follows the cancellation rule in section 5, and money you paid is refunded to the card you paid with. The person whose home is decorated gives the access permission in section 7.
16. Referrals
Once your booking is confirmed you get a referral code. When a friend books with your code, you each get a free extra wreath (a $95 value). Yours is added to your installation if it hasn't happened yet, or to your next booking. The friend’s booking must be confirmed (deposit paid), you cannot use your own code, and the gift is a wreath, not cash. Referral gifts are never tied to leaving a review.
17. Booking texts
If you tick the box for booking texts, Porch PNW sends texts about your installation: your booking confirmation, a reminder the day before, a change of day if one is agreed, an on-the-way message and a thank-you. That is about 4 texts per booking. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop texts at any time; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. How we handle your number is in our privacy notice.
18. Questions, notices and the law
If something isn’t right, tell us through the contact form and we’ll try to put it right. We send notices about your booking to the email address you gave us. The law of the state where your installation takes place governs these terms. If any part can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, your approved plan and our privacy notice are the whole agreement for your booking.
